Wikis - Library 2.0 #16

The first wiki I created was born out of frustration. The library were I worked had just introduced DVDs into its collection but not at all of the branches. The library's website did not provide a concise list or an easy way to find the branches that carried DVDs. I create a wiki using PBwiki (which has now changed their name to PBworks). It was really pretty simple to do, and it's true that you don't need advanced HTML knowledge to create and edit one.

Back in October 2008, out of curiosity, I search Wikipedia for Spokane County Library District. I did not find an entry so I thought I would give it a go in creating one. While Wikipedia is a little more complicated than PBwiki/PBworks, it's not something that can't be learned without practice. The most difficult part for me was inserting the references, but I seemed to manage. I tried to find as much information as I could, but honestly I don't know much of the history of SCLD. Hopefully someone with a bit more knowledge can step in and improve this article.
